Before departure: when am I covered by travel insurance?
You are covered by insurance if you have to cancel your trip because:
- you have tested positive for Covid-19 and are in quarantine/isolation.
- you have tested positive for Covid-19 and you are ill.
- someone close to you is seriously ill with Covid-19 (hospitalisation, death).
- you are requisitioned by the authorities as part of the fight against Covid-19.
You are covered by the insurance if you have cancelled your trip because the results of your test, which is compulsory for travel, did not reach you in time and you are positive for Covid-19.
On the outward journey: when am I covered by travel insurance?
If you are suspected of being positive for Covid-19, present symptoms when you are refused boarding and then test positive, you are covered.
On site: when am I covered by travel insurance?
You are covered by the insurance if:
- you test positive for Covid-19 and have advanced medical expenses (consultation, examination, medication).
- you test positive for Covid-19, are ill and hospitalised in your destination country for medical reasons.
- you test positive for Covid-19 on the spot and you have to postpone your return home because you have been placed in quarantine.
- you have to travel to Switzerland to look after a relative who is seriously ill with Covid (hospitalisation or death) while you are travelling (temporary return or repatriation).
