Where can I find the General Terms and Conditions of Insurance?

Our General Terms and Conditions of Insurance are available online on our website www.online-services.europ-assistance.ch/en on all product pages and are sent directly by email when you take out insurance with Europ Assistance Switzerland.


What is the age limit for taking out insurance with Europ Assistance Switzerland?

The person taking out insurance must be at least 18 years old and there is no maximum limit. 

There is no minimum or maximum for insured persons. 


How long do I have to assert my rights after a claim?

You have 5 years to report a claim from the time the event occurred. 


Where do I have to live to take out insurance with Europ Assistance Switzerland?

Europ Assistance Switzerland products only cover people residing in Switzerland at the time of the insured trip and on the date when an event occurs.


Can I take out insurance for a member of my family who does not live in Switzerland?

No, Europ Assistance Switzerland insurance can only cover people living in Switzerland.


How can I pay for insurance with Europ Assistance?

We currently offer payment by credit card: VISA, MasterCard, American Express and VISA Electron.  


When and how will I receive my insurance documents?

Immediately after taking out insurance with Europ Assistance Switzerland, you will receive your insurance policy and the associated General Terms and Conditions of Insurance by email. 


Can I cancel my policy taken out with Europ Assistance Switzerland?

You have a legal cancellation period of 14 days from the date of purchase to cancel your policy and receive a full refund of the premium paid.
You can also cancel your insurance policy in the case of multiple insurance (see the section "What is multiple insurance?").


What is multiple insurance?

Multiple insurance means being covered by more than one insurer for the same risks (and for the same period of time). The VVG stipulates that you have 4 weeks from the discovery of the multiple insurance to request cancellation of the contract (in writing or any text evidence). In this case, you can cancel your policy by providing your certificate and the General Terms and Conditions of Insurance to each insurer as proof of the dual insurance. The policy that was taken out the longest will remain valid.


How do I report a claim?

Go to the e-claims online portal to report your travel claim quickly and easily. For ski claims, go to the e-claims ski online portal.
If you have any problems, write to travel@europ-assistance.ch (email address valid only for claims and related questions).


Which countries are covered by our insurance?

As an exception to all other provisions, the following countries and territories will be excluded from cover: Belarus, North Korea, the Russian Federation, Iran, the Crimea Region, the Donetsk People's Region, the Kherson People's Region, the Luhansk People's Region, the Zaporijjia People's Region and Syria, as well as countries or regions under international sanctions.
