Assistance
The action of helping and rescuing an insured person who suffers damage while travelling abroad. Europ Assistance Switzerland provides this service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with the world's largest network (over 200 countries).
Insurance certificate
This is a document proving that you are actually insured. You can request it here, as soon as you have taken out insurance with Europ Assistance Switzerland.
Child
Person who has not yet reached the age of 25 and who is not in gainful employment (apprentices and students are not considered to be in gainful employment).
Family
This includes the policyholder's partner, children, parents, brothers and sisters, grandparents, parents-in-law, grandchildren and the children of the policyholder's partner.
Excess
Amount of damage for which the policyholder/insured is liable.
Claim form
Official form or document in which you declare an event that has occurred. You can find our Claim form here.
Policyholder
The person taking out the insurance.
Premium
Amount paid by the policyholder when taking out the insurance contract. It depends on the risks insured and the cover agreed.
Relatives
Family members, persons living in the same household as the policyholder, close friends and persons responsible for accompanying minor children who are not taking part in the trip.
Repatriation
This covers the return of a person to their country of origin if an event occurs and they are unable to continue their trip.
Arrangement sum
This is the sum already paid and non-refundable for the insured's trip and activities.
