Temporary or annual travel insurance?

Whether it's for a weekend, a short break or a longer trip for two, travel insurance for couples means that both people are covered under the same policy. This can be financially advantageous and makes it easier to manage things in the event of an unforeseen event and to declare a claim if it happens.

Annual travel insurance is a good idea if you plan to travel a lot over the next 365 days: you are covered for all trips (unlimited number) and journeys of 30 km or more away from home. 

If you live in the same household, you can take out the same annual insurance policy together: simply state that you are 2 people and you will be offered two options: Essential at CHF 190 and Comfort, the most comprehensive, at CHF 240 for the whole year.

If you are a couple but not living together, you can each take out your own annual insurance policy. For individuals, the Essential option costs CHF 120 and the Comfort option CHF 160.

On the other hand, if you travel infrequently as a couple, whether in Switzerland, Europe or the rest of the world, take out temporary insurance, valid for a single trip. Whether you live in the same household or not, you can take out the insurance together and have just one policy. 

Both people in the couple are insured and receive the same benefits.
