Temporary or annual travel insurance?

If you are planning one or more group trips, it may be worthwhile taking out annual insurance for as few as 3 trips a year (over a 365-day period, regardless of when the trip begins). However, it should be noted that an annual insurance policy will have to be taken out separately for each member of the group, if you are not travelling together. In fact, our annual insurance policies for 2+ people are Family policies. 

The annual option is very advantageous because it costs less than taking out insurance for each trip, from 3 trips per year. Each member of the group can take out insurance: Essential is CHF 120/year, while Comfort is CHF 160/year.

If your group trip is a one-off and you're only going to go away together once, you can take out temporary insurance, just for that trip and for all the members of the group up to 10 people. You will then have a single insurance policy for everyone, which is practical for managing unforeseen events and claims later on.

Group travel insurance
