Are you a student planning to travel or stay abroad?

Whether in Switzerland, Europe or the rest of the world, travel insurance for students is essential.

It may seem like yet another additional cost when you're planning your holiday, university exchange, work placement or gap year, because your student budget can be tight. However, it's more of an investment than a cost: for just a few dozen Swiss francs (for a trip), you can protect yourself financially in the event of cancellation, medical expenses or repatriation, which can result in bills of several thousand Swiss francs. Temporary or annual travel insurance? 

Are you a student planning a one-off trip, or do you want to be away for several months?

Depending on your choice, the most appropriate insurance for you will not be the same.

For a single trip of less than 6 months (work placement, student holiday, semester abroad), choose temporary student insurance: you will be covered for this trip only and will benefit from all the benefits and cover of our options. This is ideal if you don't want to make a year-long commitment and if you know you won't be travelling more than twice in the next 365 days.

On the other hand, if you're planning a longer trip (sabbatical year, university exchange lasting several months, long holiday) or several trips over the next 365 days, it's best to take out annual travel insurance. It's much cheaper financially and, above all, you'll benefit from higher overall reimbursements. The number of trips is unlimited and this insurance covers you as soon as you travel more than 30 km from home.

The Essential option costs CHF 120 per year, while the most comprehensive option, Comfort, costs CHF 160. These rates are among the most competitive on the Swiss market.
