Travel health kit

The health kit is designed to help you deal with minor health problems that may arise during your trip. Medicines and medical equipment can be hard to come by in developing countries.
 

In all cases :

- An anti-diarrheal
- Painkiller
- Paracetamol
- Disinfectant
- Broad-spectrum antibiotic (on prescription)
- Burn cream
- High SPF sunscreen cream
- Eye drops
- Antihistamine
- Local anti-inflammatory
- An antispasmodic
- Antiemetic (for motion sickness)
- Your usual oral contraceptive, condoms

 

Depending on destination :

- An anti-malarial
- Water purification tablets (e.g. hydroclonazone)
- Single-use syringes

 

Equipment:

- Disinfectant wipes or disinfectant gel
- Sterile sutures and dressings, plasters and bandages
- Safety pins and small round-tipped scissors
- Elastoplast
- Hemostatic compresses
- Tweezers
- Insect repellents (glowing coils or diffusers)
- Periodic protection
- Hat
- Rain cape
- Impregnated mosquito net, if necessary
